uhhhh.....
We have two different disposal facilities where we can take our aerosol cans. We have to puncture the cans and let them drain of any remaining contents and then toss them into a recycle bin, and toss the carboard box they come in, into a seperate bin. The thing that sucks the most is that we have to remove all the plastic caps and toss those into different recycle bin.
Dumping paint takes a whole lot longer now, then it used to.

I always just toss in the nearest construction site dumpster, but I guess it really depends on what state you are in, but here is the Material Safety Data Sheet excerpt:
KRYLON® QUIK-MARK™ Water-Based Inverted Marking Paint (APWA),
WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD
Waste from this product may be hazardous as defined under the Resource
Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) 40 CFR 261.
Waste must be tested for ignitability to determine the applicable EPA
hazardous waste numbers.
Do not incinerate. Depressurize container. Dispose of in accordance
with Federal, State/Provincial, and Local regulations regarding pollution.
I seek not to know the answers, but to understand the questions.
A few years age we actually had an explosion in a garbage truck when it was crushing the trash in the dumpster from behind our office. This was supposedly from several cases of "half empties" in the dumpster.
Maybe there are a few owners on here we could point the regulators too...
You know, make things interesting...

I don't know what he said, but it wouldn't be a fair fight anyway. I've decided arguing with USIC is like kicking a mangy puppy in the street.
It isn't the dog's fault it's homeless and diseased...just like it isn't USIC's fault he's a dimwit. Don't waste your time guys.
Character is what you are in the dark. It is the things you do, when nobody can see, and nobody will ever know, that define who you are as an individual.

But it's also sort of like watching "America's Funniest Home Videos." You know the moron holding the pinata is going to get smashed in the privates, but it is still funny when it happens.

good one dude GP!!!!!! hey usic1....i've been throwing my cans in your garbage can in front of your trailler!!!! ha!!!
wise men talk because they have something to say and fools because they have to say something....plato
Years ago we had to puncture and drain each can but we haven't did that in about 8 years. Now they just go in the dumpster at the shop. You'd think if they were punctued you could take them in as scrap steel.
I usually chunk mine in the nearest dumpster or patch of woods that I'm walking beside. I know the gas locator here has to puncture his cans and turn in every can before he gets more hence a case for a case ect...
DING DING! We have a winner!! I have at LEAST 50-60 cases in the garage in some form of "getting ready to be scrapped" I just knock the caps off and drain them, ro a 4" screw thru a 2/4 and that sits in a 55 gallon drum to pop the cans. Let it sit 2-3 days for the drained paint to dry, and throw them back in the boxes so they are easy to handle. I WILL have a FULL truck bed when they go back. Pays about $.03 a pound, not gonna get rich, but it's a GREAT way t wind down some nights. Plus, I grab other scrap here and there and always have some coming out of the garage. 2 years ago I took a small load back with the wifes mini van and walked out with over $700. Most of that was from the last job with a plumbing shop tho, had a LOT of copper and brass, and prices were high. couple months ago I took back a small truck load (3/4 ton pickup) and made about $150. That was mostly steel tho
