Default Electric coolers. Yes??? Or No????

I'm sick of making sure I have ice. Does anyone use a 12v cooler?

I would have one but most of our vehicals only have one 12v outlet. Many of them are only live when the engine is running.

You know that's where they put the chemicals designed to make employees open to suggestion and more easily "manageable". Just thought ya should be aware of it buddy.......... ....... They claim it has no side effects but you may have already noticed your testicles shrinking......... ....... Just sayin......

I have 2 electric coolers. One is basically a cooler with a fan in it and it won't cool anything. You have to put cold stuff in it and it will keep it cooler longer but it will eventually lose its "coolness". The other is a cooler designed to fit between two seats. It wouldn't fit in a truck too well. It keeps things cooler better and may actually drop the temperature of the items you want cooled but I wouldn't bet a frosty beer on it.

Bottom line is... just because it says its an electric "cooler" doesn't mean it is a "cooler".

Actually, let me add this. I forgot that I bought (at an auction) an old 12 volt cooler and that thing cools the crap out of anything. It will actually freeze stuff it gets so cold. But, this thing is large and heavy It would fit in the back of a pickup but not in the cab of a pickup. It's great. I don't let people borrow it because I'm afeared some one will break it and I'll have to pay full price to replace it. It's an old Norcold cooler. I got it for $60 but a new one costs in the $500 range. I know that doesn't help you out but if you want quality you have to pay for it.

As for what you could buy... I'm a big believer in using the Amazon rating system. If the cooler sucks, then you'll know it.
