None of the companies I have ever worked for (and there have been a few of them)made anyone pay out of pocket for damages. All of them would terminate employees for damages. If individual locators had to pay for repair costs, nobody would want to mark fiber or pulp telephone lines anymore. Can you even get personal insurance for that? I bet that would be expensive.
I seek not to know the answers, but to understand the questions.
I pay for my own damages.![]()

wise men talk because they have something to say and fools because they have to say something....plato
If you had to pay for your own damages Im sure you would have a good insurance policy...I have offered to pay for minor damages rather than be charged to my record years ago but they wouldn't let me do it.

I do not charge my field crews for damages.....but I give them a world of grief, especially for dumb stuff.

Thank god NO! Most around here would have to pay for the 10 to 15 damages under their names that they had nothing to do with.

this is the policy that our company adopted last year/ 1st damage you get 2 days off and go for training (3days to 2 weeks)/2nd damage 5 days off and training again/3rd damage 6 months off (yes 6 months) more training/all the work you ever did has to be reviewed and after 6 months you must convince the company to take you back
