I forgot Black Sabbath (real Sabbath with Ozzy, not the other fake ones that came later) and Johnny Cash

I listened to Johnny Cash's Greatest Hits this morning on the commute in. It's a great way to start the work day. Thanks Johnny.

    Holy freeking bananas.

I maybe know some of the older stuff: CCR, the who, zz top, etc.
90 percent of the names above in various threads I have NEVER heard before.

What the hell rock do I live under I guess!!!

I mainly like lighter rock, some country; Alan Jackson.

Anything that is jamming hard rock just instantly irritates the shit out of me. In the old day...like last century... I loved heavy rock or at least what passed for heavy rock in those days.

Rap and that genre just makes me want to reach through the radio and choke the living life out the S.O.B. singing it.

But, hey, we all like what we like. And, that's okay.

    Yeah, its sad isnt it???

Kind of goes with the modern times and displacement of logic-

being hip disadvantaging oneself with oversized clothing, indiscrement tattoos, and piercings, that compromise ones character and judgement in an already over competitve world...

jeans sold new with holes in them...

loud pipes on cars with chain saw engines...that goes for Harleys that make a lot of noise but cant get out of there own way...

apreciation for lack of talent- hard work and effort spent mastering talent and skills of an instrument vs lazy artificially produced sounds to cover those inadequacys...

the decline in acting talent- morbidity, sex, and special affects to distract from good quality dialogue and script...

the implications of a "fast food" environment/society are truly compromising and far reaching...

the sad thing is, the dumbing down of what is and is nt talent, over time, may open the door to something as bizarre as electronically mastered "farts in the wind"(literally) as a chart topper...

At least I wont be somewhere down that generational chain...

Off to the storage unit to play some tunes on the trumpet...
Let em jump me on my trek across town at night... Bring it on !!!!! Driving is just to damn boring...

    *blink*

    I'm at a loss...

USIC just made an almost coherent, clear, and concise post...

And with the exception of his choice in music (sorry, never could get into brass tunes, though I do enjoy jazz and blues), I agreed with most of it!!!

I must be running a temp....I'm gonna go lay down...

Hey SIC1 - I checked out Botti and I can relate. Botti is a good, smooth horn player. I don't think I would last long driving on the open road with Botti in the CD player. Instant Z's for me..... But this guy can really crank out the mood music........
