Consolidated Who?

The latest rumor is that a company called Consolidated ______(?) got the Verizon Contract in Texas. Does anyone have any idea who this is and where they are located? Supposedly they are already doing locates for Verizon in other states.

They are a pretty good company as far as I know. We work with them in Virginia (split a gas contract), and I think they picked up some Verizon after ECSM left Virginia late last year. They definitely run a good ship where we work with them.

Rob Carem (misspelled I'm sure) is at the helm (I believe) and he was either with STS or Utiliquest earlier in his career.

Consolidated came from the merging of Promark and Great Plains locating. Will never work them again no matter how much money. Locators are good folks, office personnel are great and some in the upper office are ok but some of the supervisors in the field suck. Lazy, liers, and fat asses will throw you under the boat to make theirself look good.

Consolidated is in Canada as well. They have a few contracts throughout the province. They recently gave up a huge area of Alberta because they could not seem to stay ahead of the tkts.

We took most of the areas over and as far as I know are managing okay but have not been in contact with the office in over a month.

They don't pay as "good" as ELM because they have to pay for recruiting and training. ELM just waits until that's done and then offers them more.

Do not work for Consolidated if you can help it. ECSM recently left the state of Virginia. Consolidated came in and took over both Verizon, and power. I currently work for them, and not by choice. You are not allowed insurance for 6 months, they knocked $2.50 off my pay and pay me $.25 a ticket. They also charge $3.00 a day for a vehichle. I work on the Verizon Fiber Optic Project, I'm lucky if I can mark 5 tickets in a day...so right there is $1.25, that doesn't even cover my vehicle. I hope someone buys them out.
