CLS hiring 84 locations

I was just killing some time looking to see who was hiring and came across 84 that's right EIGHTY FOUR different locations CLS is hiring for. Multiple Locations, Multiple Positions at each? What happened to the USIC Hire Freeze? Where is that money coming from if they AREN'T giving out raises and bonuses etc. etc. to their EXPERIENCED people?

Where is all the work coming from to justify those numbers?

I just found it interesting and wanted to share.

It's a job site called indeed.com. Type in Utility Locator with no specific area and it brings up jobs across the country.

Plenty of work where I'm at. They need QUALITY people in the field. I'm not too impressed with the level of so-called techs that have hit the field in the 2 years I've been absent.

The answer to your question could be summed up with two words AUL.

It really is a shame That I can't go back to work for them. I'm listed as not rehire able. I did get an offer in Mississippi, Just to big of a move for me right now.

What happened that gained you that status? I have never heard of that.

All I had to do was turn in my two week notice when I found out they were losing NJ (yes the whole state) to get on that list. I guess they figured I was an asshole for not wanting to ride out a shut down with no plan B or how I was going to pay my bills and feed my family.

I got what I thought was a better offer "more money less hours" and accepted it. Catch is they needed me to start right away. Turns out I was wrong. The new company lost their contract as a sub contractor for Comcast after the takeover from Adelphia.

Well... That sucks. I have been through several transitions, but have always left on good terms with the DM telling me I could come back anytime I wanted. I never wanted to, but it was always there. Sounds like both you and AUL got shafted. I could never blame someone for trying to make a better life for themselves or their family. There are some peolple out there who tend to forget that.

Hell, guys, I lost my last locate job for missing too much time out when my Mother was dying. I could have gone back to them if the whole damn country's economy hadn't tanked around the same time.. Been trying to get back in locating ever since. (06) Did land surveying for 12 yrs., now that field is really screwed! Nothing doing. Hangin' on in S. Ga. now. Just returned from P'cola, Fl.
