CATV & Construction sites

For any of you noobies here if you mark TV and get a ticket for a construction site don't think "I got nothing on this side of the road, a clear ticket!".

At the construction trailers they need phone service and some are now opting to use VOIP and a CATV service rather than a phone company service. Especially if they want to use the internet to move large files like site drawings.

Check every trailer on the site for a CATV (or phone) service.

Also do not just listen to the customer on site, they do not always know what they have or do not have. I had a lady tell me that I was tracing her FO phone service she had Verizon put in last year. I opened the box on the side of the house and found a TV service inside. A search of the outside of the house found no FO phone service. Remember, if they knew what they were talking about they would have a paint stick in their hand.

well depends on who ya talk to, upper management things they know it all that is why they are up here lol.....another thing ya might look for is a pole line or catv peds and look and see if any drops are in there to, that will also be a heads up to look for. I know in some areas there are 3 tv, phone services and people jump back and fourth, best thing i know is to mark it all just to cya.

biggest mistake is to listen to a home owner, but once in a while you do find one that does know what they are talking about
