    Default California locators

For you California locators the City of Palo Alto is hiring a locator to mark their facilities.

    https://www.calopps.org/ViewAgencyJob.cfm?ID=7940&kw=

The pay is $27.02 to $33.18 hourly.

Just thought I would pass it on as one locator here works for a city government and says it is near locator heaven.

It sounds like good pay and it may be. One needs to investigate the cost of living in that area. It is just above San Jose and south of San Fransisco. Also see what union dues are.

    Try this website http://www.kw.com
This is Kerr Williams Realty and they can get you into the MLS for most areas.

The lowest rent by a realty firm in Palo Alto is $2,300 for a 2 bedroom 1 bath 937 square foot house.

That was for Palo Alto. Use mapquest or google maps to see get the various names of the counties in driving distance. Then you can widen the search.

Of course this does not cover apartments in most areas except individual condo rentals listed with a real estate firm.

Don't forget your hard earned money being taxed WAYYYYYY more for those wonderful social programs (that you wouldn't qualify for AT ALL, FOR ANY REASON).

Oh and brush up on the National Language of California. If your Es-Spanol isn't good you might want to work on it. I hear it's REQUIRED!

Better off just staying where you are yahoo. I'm sure your check goes ALOT further there.

Nice find. That might be a good one to inquire about.

<-------- Born and raised in San Jose. Cost of living? expensive... and in cali they were just told by the state government that they are going to withhold another 10% out of their check.

However, the weather is great, the women are hot, and tons of things to do on your free time. Laguna Seca is just up the road about an hour Check out www.zillow.com for recent selling prices as well.

The rent might be high in California but I guess there is a lot of cheap food available - after all it is "The Land of Fruits and Nuts"!

I figure there are locators already in that area that would find this an opportunity for them. They may not be in town but within commute distance.

The pay is good, and perhaps good benefits, but deduct union dues and the cost of commute becasue it does not look like you take the truck home.

Working for the city may be more secure than for a locate firm.

Hey Pro - Nice find. $1200 per week for a 40 hr (zero to limited OT hours I'm sure) week sounds sweet, and it is....... if you live anywhere outside of California. If you plan to own yer own house in the Silicon Valley (Palo Alto) area on a locator's wage, forget it. Nice apartments are available in the $1,000+ per month range.

Nice but sort of small. These are efficiency apartments, one open room and a bathroom ranging from 400 to 600 square feet total.
