hello all, im a locator from australia, i havent posted before but have read alot of info on this site.

i have a few questions regarding the cat3v .

currently im using rd7000 everyday but have mostly been using subsite gear previous to that.

my question is can the cat3v be used as an everyday locator such as the rd7000 , having not used one b4 i realise they're limited in how many frequencies they offer etc but is it perfectly capable of working in congested central city locations?

i realise the rd7000 is superior but if i was to need a cheaper alternative will it do?

also on a side note. how does everyone put up with their leads for RD always breaking. i ended up soldering some old ditchwitch leads to the rd plug. any other ways you get round it?

Thankyou in advance.
