8.1 or 32.9 ....if any other utility is in the area that you know of ..then 8.1 only .

Sounds like some of you guys need a good contractor, you know - like me - that installs tracer wire along with my fiber. I know, I know, you never heard of a contractor doing things right....well here I am.

Also, I just did a fiber job for a local municipality, and their entire fiber network was previously installed by a contractor like 10 years ago - who ran non-armored fiber with a detectable muletape as a tracer. How shitty was that?

I don't have 32.1 and you can pick up that with 33. And 8.1 same thing. Are you using a metro tech/vivax

you should have 512, something in the 600 area, 8, 33, 65 if you are using the 7000 from Stake. If you have tracer use 8 and watch the millamps and NOT the depth. If you have 2 signals disregard depth and go with the STRONGEST Ma strength. Also if you are direct connect be sure the far end is grounded out.

locating freq for FO is like locating freq on any utility. Use the lowest freq that works.

The new stuff has good tracer like plastic gas has. around here if your at a locate at the same time as someone from USIC your ticket is already late. Needless to sayI rarely run into someone using the same frequency. Just the xcel locator and he is usually using a high frequency while I'm usually using a low
