Hows it going daman 1? I haven't seen any real difference from the Obama economy to the trump economy with private locating request. Locating is a different animal and companies are always digging, so its hard to see a difference unless you stop getting calls. Big projects continue to come in each year and we still have our private utility contracts with clients since 2010.

Makes sense. Here in my area its been harder to find a spot theyre not digging. Especially the state contracts. Wasnt sure if its just 811 or not. Dig season barely slowed down over the winter. Easy to credit Trump but youre right. People are gonna dig regardless. There are amazingly few private guys in my area to ask.
Seems like a well funded startup could almost name their price.

Thank you for clearing this out.
Never tried a Subsite machine either... how is it in comparison with a RD 8100 or a Vivax Vloc Pro 3?
Why would a reputable company like Leica just relabel somene else product?
Past few years I used Vivax equipment but they have quality issues, all made in China.

It appears some people like to cheat by only changing a few parts and then calling it their own product ??? . I agree with you on that vivax machine , but we have some guys on this site that swear by that product . I have used the yellow machine for a few years but I came to one conclusion the transmitter was way too fragile for the great outdoors work we do .

I actually saw it first as a Gen EYE Hot Spot locator , I think Ditch Witch released theirs first. https://drainbrain.com/en/products/locatortrans/

Vivax are well engineered, but I believe the quality of parts and manufacturing does not rise to that level. On the other hand Leica is a Swiss manufacturer that is renowned for the high quality products. Actually I would be very happy with a Vivax Made in Switzerland. One of the Vivax I purchased didnt worked properly out of the box and I had to send it back. And their salesman have absolutely no clue on how this things really work. All he does is to parrot paragraphs from the manual. I guess I will go with a RD 8100 for now.
