Default Any Fellow Locators on airfields?

I was just curious how many of you out there work with or for companies that provide utility locates for airfields?

I'm curious if you deal with the same issues I deal with, heavy congestion coupled with lack of access due to restrictions?

    Just curious.

I used to do locates out at the local Air National Guard and had very little trouble with access.

Getting in the gate was easy. I would just show them my digline ticket and they would wave me through. It isn't like that today, but still, getting around the base is easy.

I use to locate on Ft. Drum (Watertown, NY) and have to sign in EVERY TIME because my company was too lazy to fill out the 2 sheets of paperwork to get a contactors pass.

Getting in isn't the issue. Its not being able to hook up on anything due to restrictions on access to certain equipment during active flight areas.

Most the time we have don't have the option of Direct connecting or ring clamping on anything.

I use to due a local small commuter airport that had some "military" usage. I was not allowed to hook up to anything with out the area engineer approving it. they thought the transmitter freq. might bleed off and cause false or miss leading readings on thier equipment. I can only assume they ment the radar, that would suck being responsible for causing a false blip on the screen and causing a crash or something...................

I have a small airport in my area. The lines that run in the taxi/runway areas are off limits. In the 11 years I've located the airport I've only locate these lines a few times and it is with very high security on my side. For the most part besides a few big primaries there isn't anything in the runway areas. I do have access to all the hook ups by all the hangers and terminal buildings.

You don't have to sweat that Ninja. I have located most of the tower, guidance, and communications at Reagan National, Dulles International, Baltimore Washington, Andrews AFB, and multiple other municipal and military airfields with no issues.
