2010 Camaro to be 2009 Daytona Pace Car

The 2010 Camaro to be the 2009 Daytona 500 Pace Car

The pace car will be the 2010 Chevy Camaro. Although an ad shows a stock V6 RS, we're guessing it might look a little spiffier when it takes to the track. The V6 could stay – after all, it packs a V8-like 300 horsepower. Either way, there are doubtlessly some graphics in the works along with the usual slate of safety add-ons.

We'd be curious to see something distinct like a white convertible with orange stripes and a black and orange houndstooth interior. Chevrolet will undoubtedly offer a pace car edition of the production Camaro eventually to commemorate the event. In any case, we should know for sure by February 15, the date of Daytona 500.

Hey Wing, what year did the Camaro you described 1st come out and wasn't it already an Indy Pace Car? In the 60's I believe.

Nice looking car.........are they going to make a production model with a big V-8?

Got a call from my builder today and my dirt modified roller is ready for the engine and tranny. Will post pics when it is complete.

My dream car would be a '69 Camaro. I've owned a '69 and '68 but I would love it if they took the exact same body style as the '69 and reproduced it with all the modern amenities of todays cars. the '69 in my opinion is the most aesthetically pleasing cars ever produced.

Go ahead and pinch yourself. This is real! Since October 2004, you can buy a BRAND NEW, complete 1969 Camaro body in steel as a coupe or a convertable made by Dynacorn! It's a replacement body for a wrecked/rusted 1969 Camaro or can be a kit car that you build to any level of modernization you desire.

Since January 2007, the same is true for the 1967 fastback Mustang crate and the 1967 Camaro Coupe crate. By next year, the 1969 & 1970 Ford Mustang fastback crates will also be available from Dynacorn.

I had a '95 Z28 for a few years. Gotta love them Camaros. Didn't the new generation Camaro make its first appearance in the movie Transformers?
