    Default Workers Compensation Insurance

I own a small utility locating company in California, and am not required to buy workers compensation insurance. I'm wondering if my health insurance will even cover injuries on the job. When I've been employed by others, work injuries were always covered by workers comp, but I'm wondering what will happen now that I own my company and don't have WC?

Anyone else in this situation? WC is about $1,300 to cover myself.

I own my contracting company. I've got WC on my guys, but not on myself...and yes I'm out there doing work everyday. Either pay for the office visit yourself or use your personal insurance. If you get hurt and they ask what you do, just write down, "Self Employed."
