I paint plenty of sidewalks in my area. We don't have a choice when they run the utilities under the sidewalk and then call in tickets for adding more. It has to be marked, to me the main thing is keeping your marks as neat as possible when marking sidewalks.

We was acually charged with a damage one time because we didint paint on the driveway we had a few dots on it and the service ran the entire length of the driveway but we were charged because we didnt stripe it and the contractor didnt see all the dots it was somewhere in our contract that we had to paint it on hard surfaces just as soft

is that just primary power or is it a power duct bank under the walk? Are you required by contract to mark the approximate width of the utility?

3-phrase Primary....and the homeowner was Pissed!!! ( I would have been too). Luckily, I knew the general contractor building the house. I just made sure the homeowner only paid the cost on each soiled pallet and had one of my guys pressure wash the driveway for free.....that made him happy
