From the looks of it they got hit so hard and fast they never knew what hit them.

When I was dispatching I had to write up field accident reports and people stealing copper often were the subject of these reports.

The worst one was a man who broke into a substation to steal copper. He climbed a steel girder structure and tried to steal the conductor from a 69,000 volt line. It blew one of his legs off at the hip. What happens is the fluids in the joints flash to steam and the body sometimes just explodes at the joints.

These people who steal copper, they do not do it becasue they are smart.

    What an ELECTRIFYING experience!

They must have wondered WATT went wrong!

That simply isn't the way to CONDUCT that operation!

All in all, they proved to be well-GROUNDED individuals after all!

They must have thought they had AMPle time to get away with it! (ok, yeah so that's reaching a bit...)

Character is what you are in the dark. It is the things you do, when nobody can see, and nobody will ever know, that define who you are as an individual.

Steve them are some very disturbing pictures. Where did you find them? Is there a story that goes along with it?

I got them in my e-mail from a person who forwards me a bunch of jokes everyday. The only text in the e-mail was: "Is the $3.37 per pound worth your life?"

I did a search in google news but didn't find anything. I don't know how old these are either. I'm sure someone here knows something about it.

hmmm, I found out through a neighbor who works for a local electrical company that they have a deal with the local newspaper not to report on Metal theives that hit electrical substations or any situation that might be inspiration to other tweaked out retards.

On that note, we had a big power outage in portland today that took out blocks in downtown portland......... they blamed it on .... squirels....hmmm.

I was originally sent the link to a German site that had these pix... these could be from overseas.
