  • Gas Line Break Reported In Lincoln Park

    10News.com

    SAN DIEGO, CA.

A waste water crew working at a Lincoln Park intersection on Saturday broke a 4-inch gas line, officials said.

The crew dug into the line about 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of South 47th Street and Ocean View Boulevard, according to Allison Zaragoza, spokeswoman for San Diego Gas and Electric. A SDG&E crew responded and a second crew was later called to the scene to help control the gas, she said.

"They're working to get the area safe," Zaragoza said.

The agency did not evacuate anyone because of the break and no outages were reported, Zaragoza said.

Crews from the San Diego Fire- Rescue Department also responded to the scene, a San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher said.

San Diego police blocked the area around the broken line for just over an hour, police said.

There was no potential for an explosion because of the broken line, Zaragoza said.
