So i've done it. (With the help of Jr. wanting the same stuff for his birthday) I've got a video editing program as well as a new sony action cam. I think i'm going to start recording the stupid crap that fills my head daily. I've started to lean heavily to this idea since looking up video's on youtube.

It seems that there is 3 different type of locating film makers. 1) Salesman with equipment to push 2) Noobs who have just enough info to make a 2 min film describing nothing but ...

Ok. I know i've talked about training before (i.e. http://www.thecablevine.com/forum/bl...ing-thing-116/ ) But I'm really thinking we need to work something into the rotation about informing people how to properly locate. I know I get some flak for being "Anti-Union". I really am not. I work for a company where alot of the people I work with are in unions. IBEW, ILWU, SEIU, Operating Engineers, etc... etc...

My Mom was union. My dad was union. I can go on. My headache does not come from being represented by a union. If Locating had an existing union specifically designed for locators, I would be wearing the shirts proudly and paying the dues.

    My main complaint about ...

  5. USIC employees gaining support to go union.

In the Midwest areas USIC employees are bonding together and working toward unionization. If you support the move and are a current employee of USIC, contact your nearest IBEW business manager and let him know. Also talk amongst your coworkers.

Everyone has their own opinions about it,, but here are several key opportunities that could come from unionization.

Better wages ( that cover more than just union dues.)
    Better and more affordable healthcare
