    So there I am, waist deep in a conversation with a co-worker about what he can do to keep his job. I've been directly working with him for about two months or so trying to help him understand what exactly we do here. You figure I wouldn't have to describe these tasks in that much detail to someone who has almost 1/3 more time locating then I have. But I do.

  2. good things

    2 good things happened in my life this past week. First was my youngest son rolled into the Navy and is by now settled into bootcamp. This is my second son to join and serve in the Navy. I'm so very proud of them both.
    The other thing was.... I was promoted to Master Tech at work. a little more money and more responsibility. Once I get the BS sorted out that another master tech is telling me what my responsibilities are, and get a couple of my projects under control. I think it will be a ...

  3. Getting Cold Out.

    It is getting cold out and I, again, like I do every year, start thinking about a nice job inside a warm building with a window. I don't need a desk next to a window, just a window I can walk by now and then and look out at the cold weather while I sip on a nice hot coffee. I could be wearing slacks or not. I could still be wearing jeans. They might even be clean. A dress shirt and tie might be in the picture. I wouldn't mind it so much. My shoes would be shoes and not boots with paint all over ...

    Last night I was doing a final run before the 10K run I'm doing tomorrow. It was clear and cold, about 8:00 at night, temperature was around 33 degrees. Since I live in a rural area, I was running with a flashlight to keep from falling in a ditch, and to warn traffic of my presence. I had my headphones on, blaring some random motivational music to keep me on pace. I looked up in the sky and marvelled at the beautiful view of the millions of stars in perfect view.   5. fall locating

    This is my favorite time of year to locate. Not too hot not too cold and the trees are gorgeous. One of the reasons I love locating. Not to many reasons left anymore.
