May as well, he seems to AGREE with everything John McCain says. Maybe that's where Barry O will develop some kind of REAL STANCE and SUBSTANCE on, well let's see, EVERYTHING, by watching 'John' as he would say.

Guess what? I just paid off my house and am on pace to make the most money since 1998 when I was in a different line of work. I'm not planning on retiring anytime soon, I don't play the stock market so none of this financial mess is currently bothering me personally. Kind of like Global warming - it could probably, maybe,in a few years, if everything goes as predicted and all the 'models' are correct and this happens and that doesn't happen and all the stars line up, actually cause some degree of problem for some of us, depending on yada yada yada! :blahblah::blahblah:
Damn, now I'm starting to sound like the Sic1 but what I am trying to convey is that most of this BS the press force feeds us is just that You can control a lot more of your life than the Politicians think. :peace:

The vast majority of our Washington bureaucrats are focused on pseudoscience (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudo_science) issues. In the 1970s the US taxpayers were committed to spend money on the coming Global Ice Age! In the 1980s the US taxpayers were committed to spend money on Global Acid Rain! In the 1990s, the US taxpayers were committed to spend money on Global Warming! Today, our bureaucrats are suckering the US taxpayers into paying a Carbon Usage tax to the United Nations! No shit! These bastards want you and me to pay an extra dollar a gallon at the gas pump so the United Nations can stop global warming! What Bullshit! Our Washington bureaucrats stay focused on a single issue and make as much sense as the Miss Teen model of South Carolina of 2007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WALIARHHLII&feature=related) on all issues!
On second thought, if Miss Teen South Carolina would run for political office, she's got my vote! ............... I'm just kidding!

I would like to know EXACTLY HOW an house 'keeps' and 'increases' in value? It's made of wood, wood rots. Roofs leak and create water damage. People living in them year after year after year painting, remodeling, tearing stuff apart and adding (usually crappy homemade) additions. Pets pissing and shitting everywhere. Plumbing breaks, sewers back up, mice infest, roaches infest. Ceilings crack, dry wall falls or splits apart, wiring burns out. Again HOW does a house GO UP in value??

Thank goodness we never found out. Speaking of the mortgage crisis, from what I understand, Bush made as many as 12 different attempts to fix the fannie mae, freddie mac system in the last 2 years but was consistently stopped by the Democrats. The Democrats run those two organizations. They are the ones who screwed it up.
Worst case scenario? You got it in your Democrats. Don't make it worse with little boy o'bama.

Sic1, you are right - just out today - existing house prices in Texas are down - 2 1/2% less than last year -. However, this only effects me if I sell my house , besides my taxes should decrease by a like amount. Now since I plan on living here at least 6 -7 more years, I am not really effected by the financial failings happening at this time.
I know some people are being hurt by this recession, slow down, whatever you want to call it, but most people aren't. I truly believe this is simply a shake-out of another great 'pie in the sky' investment run that has gone south like all of the dot.coms did a few years back. The housing market will come back as long as our population increases.
However, if our New management at USIC performs like some of these other companies, then I will be worried.

If I have said it once I have said it a thousand times NOTHING MADE TO LIVE IN for a 'NORMAL' family SHOULD COST OVER $80,000 god damn dollars. $125,000, $150,000 to over $200,000 WTF are you serious?
Houses are built by the LOWEST BIDDER, I hat to say it but usually Mexican laborers, roofers, plumbers, electricians. Don't tell me I'm wrong I've SEEN it EVERYWHERE I have been from the West Coast to the East Coast. 1 white guy (supervisor/foreman) and the rest mexicans.
I'm GLAD the bottom is coming. Those of us who AREN'T affected by this might ACTUALLY be able to buy a house with something this country has forgot about CASH!!!! 30 year loans are F*CKING RETARDED. In this business who knows where you are going to be 5 years from now!!! Hell, ANY BUSINESS in this country where are you going to be 5 years from now. Price and stupidity is what went wrong with the housing market!!

First of all.... I am an INDEPENDANT. I AM NOT A DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN. My opinion is that they both suck. I live in the state that IS IN A RECESSION. My house has gone down in value (percentage wise) MORE than my car that I bought {house: 98,000 to 41,000(42%), car: 22,000 to 16,000(72%).} I was offered 98,000 2 years ago (realtor told me not to take, bought for 84,000 8 years ago.) next door house, the same as mine just sold for 36,500 last month. I bought my car (2006 Ford Explorer) for 22,000(good year end deal with 0% financing and a plan discount. Blue Book is 17,355 for my zip code. I will vote for the candidate that will give me the best opertunity to retire by age 65, and agrees with most of my beliefs. Will someone please tell me how the hell I will be able to survive the next 4-8 years. I am right now paying almost twice as much on my mortgage as I was 2 years ago. I make 4% more than I did 2 years ago. At this rate my house payment will encompass my entire check in 5 years. Plus the car payments for my wife and I. I have not been able to redo my mortgage because my credit score wasn't good enough (95 points better than when I bought my house.). Go fricken figure. Give me the actual views of each candidate. Obama has a few somewhat radical ideas, while McCain offers more of the same. Which is worse, and if I'm wrong, please prove me wrong. I want a clear good choice. By the way, I just lost 10% in the stock marked in the last week or so. Hopefully it was just a correction.:yikes:

Beyond, if you keep your house and car and don't sell them or retire, you haven't lost anything, except on paper. The way things change these days there's no telling what it's going to be like when we retire 5 - 10 years from now. By the way, your property taxes should decrease some. Hang in there.

I still have at least 20 - 25 years before I can think of retirement. Unfortunately my property taxes keep increasing because the township just built a new police station and redid all 3 fire depts (I have no problem with this); with all new equipment. Where I have a problem, is the 2.5m dollar hole the school district is in. The township has 3 districts. 2 have a surplus, while mine is just plain ol' F'ed up. My taxes stay higher, while others in the other districts (but same city, and all use the same school board). Wonder why we still have the same school board. 70% live with lower taxes and better schools, while my kid has crappier schools, and I pay the same dollar amount in taxes on an 45k house, than the guy on the other side of town in the 120k house. Makes me want to drink. I keep up with my bills, but they keep piling up. I've paid over $2,000 in doctor bills (total cost has been $2,950) while paying over $100 for insurance each check. Something wrong here? I don't want help, Just some friggin honest answers. Yes I'm bitter. The average joe schmoe getting it up the butt. Give me another option that would be viable somewhere in the middle. Hell 350 million people, only 2 major political parties in a free society.

You know, speaking of 'Average Joe Schmoe', there is only ONE person in this election that has had a 'REAL' JOB in their lives
McCain - Naval Academy,Vietnam,Politics (not putting his service down in any way but)
Biden - Politics for 35 years
Obama - What ever he did before who knows, he probably doesn't.
Palin - Commercial Fishing,TV anchor, Small Town Mayor, Governor (oh yeah she was what a model also)
Out of ALL 4 who do think is CLOSER to what you and I face EVERY DAY? Ok she has some flaws but ARE THEY REALLY flaws? She MAY have used her position to get her Cop Brother in Law fired. From all acounts HE was a jerk off and shouldn't have been wearing a badge anyway (WE ALL know cops that shouldn't be cops and all we do is bitch about it when we see them everyday still working). She isn't the greatest at Forgein Policy. WHO CARES?? Our Forgein Policy is a huge part of WHY 3 quarters of the planet HATES US and why the other quarter USES US. Our Forgein Policy is BROKEN and needs to be SHELVED until WE are FIXED here FIRST!!
Oh and her 'Lack' of experience, yeah, she has more FULL time experience in Government than Barry does and HE's the front runner. Yes she has said some goofy shit but golly darn jee WE HAVE HEARD some goofy shit before. Remeber our 1 President who didn't know WHAT the definition of 'SEX' was? Remember the 1 Vice President who said that HE in fact invented the INTERNET?
Obama and Biden can 'Keep the CHANGE' they offer, I'm not on welfare and I don't live in the Ghetto so NOTHING they offer is going to BENEFIT me or my family, it's only going to HURT.

Barry made a surprise trip to Hawaii (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article4982899.ece) to visit his ailing granny..... The media sez Barry left the campaign trail days before the election because of Barry's strong commitment to family first and concern for the health of his white granny........... Yet Barry left his wife & kids at home! Only the uninformed and the most naive would believe that line of bullshit..........
Barry is concerned for his family's health I'm sure. But my gut sez Barry is more concerned of the health of his bogus Hawaiian birth certificate. Not to worry though.......... All it's going to take is a BIG shot of campaign cash handed to the proper Hawaiian Health Department bureaucrat for the cure!

Let's make things clear, I don't have an afilliation to ANY politicians. I don't know any, I've never met Barry or John. I am however, steady in my beliefs that the Democratic Party isn't what is good for my family. I am absolutely positive, without a shadow of a doubt, that I am a Conservative person with Conservative beliefs. I also come from a family that is, and will always be Conservative. And although I don't care for the state of affairs this country is currently in, I am also doubtless that the Democrats cannot and will not make it any better. It is also my personal belief that if any of the Independents could really change this country, they would have a bigger toe-hold in the election process. Unfortunately voting for them is a wasted vote. That may not be totally true....maybe I am not informed enough about the Independant candidates, but information coming from Wingfoot will not sway my opinions there. To sum it up, I am not "Afilliated" with any of them, but we have to vote for somebody, and my vote will go to the party who thinks ROUGHLY the same way I do.
And yes, let me say it before the 32 posts come in saying it..............."Opinions are like Assholes" -fortunately I showered today......

Well as I have said before, I would really like to vote for an Independent but none of them have a legitmate shot at this. So ergo I have to vote for the person with the BEST QUALIFICATIONS. McCain. I DO NOT like Barry's resume, he wants to be a Supervisor with little or NO experience doing ANYTHING. OJT isn't what is needed here. His OWN party doesn't think he's qualified.
Would anyone hire someone who comes with BAD references and NO EXPERIENCE to be the boss? Other than Contract Locating Companies?
That's what this election REALLY is. It's an Interview for the job. Problem is ONE has to be hired but both applicants are a little off.

The more justified way to look at this is -
Having faith in republicans is the same as the faith you had in the stock market...

Not coming from the other side (obviously)... I agree that neither candidate is the BEST choice, and an independent might do a better job. However, it must be taken into account that when the votes get split 3 or more ways it does not go well. If I thought someone else had a good chance of winning other than the 2 predominate parties, I would probably vote for them. You must remember back in 92 when Perot threw his hat into the mix.... Clinton won by very little and probably wouldn't have made office had that portion of the voting pool not voted for Perot. To Do List.... get passport before January.

Any candidate running for president must secure 270 electoral votes to be declared a winner. All the electronic voting machines are set to manipulate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-drWGnF6DjM&feature=related) the votes between the 2 parties and ignoring the independent vote. If more people would vote for candidates who are GOOD for America (choosing populist independents) vs. the lessor of 2 evils, neither sob could get the required 270 electorates. Then Congress would have to declare a winner instead of an electronic voting machine hacker(s) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEzY2tnwExs)!
What a message to the Zionist shadow government: We ain't buying your bullshit 2 party theatrics or your puppets!
