Some of this is a bit out there but for the most part it holds true. I graduated from High School in 1986 and I can see the contrasting scenarios from how I was brought up and what my kids are going through. I can remember fighting a guy after school, going to football practice, and we were best friends the next day. Today we both would be in jail. We have grown into a society of wimps. Yes, things have changed to a degree but with that change has come media coverage which has glorified the violence on a day to day basis. Were things like this going on before the internet and mass media? YES! It was just harder to get the information. If you watch the national or local news when do they ever have anything good to say except in the last 30 seconds when no one is watching. Why not start the newscast off with something positive? The first 10 minutes of any newscast is all about who got shot, what nation is potentionally developing nukes, who is kidnapped, etc. I as most people, have enough negative shit going on, why hear about the latest killing instead of focusing on the good of people? Not to be a downer but we have become an extemely ****ed up society. I am a single dad and walk out the door each day with a smile on my face. I have a ton of shit on my plate, kids, college, trying to get into law school, and I still try to find the good in everyone around me. Yahoo... you may be lmao but I feel that it is a sad state that we have grown into as a society. Our lives are too fast, too busy, too complicated, too involved, and not enough time for family and friends the way it used to be. When was the last time you said with meaning "thank-you" to the girl or guy serving you at the gas station, burger joint, etc? Their shitty attitude came from the person who was an asshole before you, went to you and goes on from there. It is vicious cycle. I could go on but have an assload of paperwork. Flame on if you want to these are just my opinions.
