Beer because it's cheap. ;)
Prefer Schlafly #15 or most anything brewed by Leinenkugel's. :)
A well brewed Meade (Honey Beer) will top my list any day. :D

With the extremely bad days I have been having lately, and the new fierce and fiery hatred I have developed for my job, I drink almost every night now.
I still have some Manischevits left from passover and I drank that Friday night when I got home from work....

Thanks for the advice. I have been feeling like this for about the last 2 or 3 weeks now.
I am starting to get hit hard with large projects and stupid tickets.
I have one week of my vacation scheduled next month, but that will only do one thing to me....make me not want to come back to work.
Asking my super for some time off? yeah right, we have a full crew and we are still short handed, and one of our locators has a bad habit of taking one day a week off (for what reasons, I have no idea).
Now my area is at the point where I take a day off, thats just more work that gets backed up and is waiting for me when I come back a day or so later. Things have changed way too much with my company since September of last year, thats when things went all to crap....

I liked the Captain Morgans Cola that came out a while back, but none of my local stores carry it anymore.
Miller Chill is good, as is Twisted Tea...
But I still love a good strong Jack & Coke (green or white label sometimes too)

try the bud chill, it's alright.
as for domestic beers, shiner bock is the one you can generally find in most places that is a good tasting beer..Weak ABV is the one thing that holds this thing back though, along with it lacking an extremely full taste.
There's a beer called Optimator, that's 7.2% abv I believe. They call it a 'malt bomb.' 2.50 for a pint, imported from Germany I believe. Great tasting beer. Somewhat sweet at first, but after that first taste, you'll know you're drinking a beer that was brewed by a guy who knew what the **** he was doing. Another beer that I can vouch for that gives the same effect is a brew called Aventinus, this one is actually my personal favorite, 8.2% ABV, found at Albertsons or any grocery with a decent import selection. It's just a great tasting beer, it's not light, and it's not dark...It's perfect. 2 of them gets you a nice buzz, drink 3 and you're lit, I don't care how far alcoholism runs in the fam.
The pocketbook is where beer like this can be a pain, but like you can see the Optimator isn't so bad at 2.50 a pint. I have to say the Aventinus is a more satisfying brew, but an Optimator is good to have on hand, trust me once you taste it, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Brewing beer is kind of a hobby of mine, but I haven't done it in a year. Last one was a double bock that didn't turn out too well....was my 3rd brew, all the guys who start out **** with the beer kits, will I went ahead and did it the bout it way and went all-grain when I did my first, and every brew afterwards...just to learn it the hard way, because all grain brews are what you want to know how to make, the kits are a joke.
mixed drink?
strong, frozen margarita, made with at least a decent liquor such as jose cuervo. sour or fruit flavored but sour preferred..lots of salt.
and then comes the traditional hurricane, I love that drink, and it goes good with some cheap captn morgans....gf only drinks mixed stuff, which is what introduced me to my liking of the above 2.

I found this stuff called Golden Monkey, something like 13.9%. Also Zeppelin Imperial Ale is about 10%. These will mess you up in a hurry. If you do find the Golden Monkey it tastes better in a glass rather than the bottle. :drinks:

ZeppImperial Ale, I've seen that at Whole Foods I think. Maybe I am mistaken. For over a decade on this site ratebeer.com which has beers rated by a bunch of guys from all over, this one beer called Westelvaren Abt 12 (sp) has been at #1 for over a decade. To get a 12 oz bottle shipped here it's around 13-16 dollars. They only brew so much of it, because from what I understand it originates from a smaller Monastery in Belgium...Always wanted to try this one for the hell of it.

I found the Zeppelin while in Montana snowboarding this winter and have tried to get it distributed here but to no avail. Funny thing is that there are all these great micro's in MT but everyone seems to drink PBR......maybe because they are $1 per glass. Tastes like goat piss to me. The GM runs about $14 per six but well worth it.

I heard Woods is pretty good from a reliable source, (Barfly neighbor)
I keep a 5th of Don Julio Silver in the freezer, and some cold precut orange wedges...Most folks like lime or lemons with their tequila but I like oranges better, it's smoother and less tart, while masking the alcohol just as good. Especially if you sugar 'em down.
and it's always good to chase with a beer, lately I've been keeping sixpacks of this chinese beer called tsingtao around, it's a weak brew but tastes pretty good, goes well behind ice cold tequila i've found.
I've been meaning to get around and try more expensive liquors...I don't like the cheap stuff, I figure I work pretty hard, if I'm going to drink at home might as well spring for the quality stuff; I mean, in a restaurant if you plan on getting drunk you'll spend about 40 -50 dollars anyway.
And you beer freaks are gonna think I'm a tool for this but I like the michelob honey lager...I know it's not a 'highly rated beer' but I really enjoy the taste of it...It's like a malt bomb. It reminds me of Optimator. now THATS a true malt bomb. and a damn good beer to boot. But they're pricey.
I put an Optimator in my trainer's icechest to take home and he loved it. the guy normally drinks bud light. Op is 7.5ish,
My favorite, absolute favorite imported brew is this stuff called Aventinus...It's the only beer I've found that you can actually get trashed by sipping on it (8.2 abv)
