Ok, here is the scoop! A Oklahoma locator went to Illinois to help out he was at his hotel one night and decided to go to a ball game (who wouldnt) so he drives his company truck about a mile to the nearest bus station and hops on a bus to wrigley. The game was over and he got back on the bus to the station hopped in his company truck and heads back to the hotel. Next morning was told to get to the office and they fired his ass for using the company truck for personal use and kicked out of his hotel and truck taken????!!!! Now I will give it to his personal office in Oklahoma I heard they said B.S. and got him back home. I dont know any more if he got to keep his job or what but I do know one thing. There has been many times in the past 13yrs that I have went out of town to help other districts and we all have done out fair share of using the truck while in those areas and told we could do so as long as we werent drinking or going to the bars? So why did this happen? I for one will never leave my state again and if they ever say I have to I guess they will end up firing me because ill be damned if I will be stuck in a hotel room for 2 weeks while helping another district.
If anyone has any insight please add to it. But this does come from a very reputable source that was up there with the guy at the time....

The only time I went out of state I went with a group of locators from Illinois and most of us were gone for two months. We were given the go ahead to use the company trucks for whatever purposes we needed them for so long as we weren't drinking and driving. If that really is true about that locator from Oklahoma that's unfortunate. See one of my recent posts regarding the stupidity of our corporate schmucks. How the F*CK else is anyone from out of state supposed to get around?!! What, they're just supposed to go work 10-12 hours and spend the rest of their time in a hotel room? I think not, and I think the genius that fired that guy should be dealt some locator justice.

Me and my buddy paid to get it out they hide them there no parking signs like a mother up there LOL!!!! But that would be one boring ass time without being able to go anywhere. I now will never go anywhere ever again...

I know a couple people that had gone to Chicago, and they used their truck for getting around. If some asshole (No asterisks for this one) actually fired someone in this fashion. They should be hung by their nuts. Oh wait, they don't have any. This is the kind of crap that pisses me off. Please insert middle finger smiley here.

I obviously don't know the whole story but would have to agree if the locator was using the truck to sightsee,go shopping,go out to eat, or any thing besides drinking it is B.S. Here's the finger for ya.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/predrunner/cablevine/Middle-FingerSmiley.gif

We were always aloud to use our trucks out of town. And always will be. How is it any different going to a place to eat. Because they extended stay was a shithole. And did not even have an oven. We had a Subway, a Mexican place and the pool hall / bar . So if we can't drive, do we expense cab fair?

I heard the guy who fired him was a DM with initials of HS. I would have told him to **** off. SM-P would not have cared. We drove our tucks within reason to eat.
