Well, personally, I think a CAT trackhoe with a 4 yard bucket does a superb job every time!

Metrotech 9860/9890.

Your supposed to vote for what you like to use best. Here's one of Rigid's models.

I guess I'm the only Rycom guy on here. It's amazing at the variety of machines everyone uses. I guess for the most part it just depends on what our companies buy. I know we don't get to choose, we just get what we are handed.

Started with an RD433 got downgraded to a 400 which I loved. Then I got the Rycom, and can't imagine using anything else.

It looks like the RD is the most used by the "viners". I just hope everyone is not using the RD4000. I love the radio mode but that thing is just way to heavy. We do 4-7 way locates up here and I can't imagine swinging that thing all day long.

Im an old school Metrotech 810'er myself!!!! I have one in the truck that comes out when I cant find anything else have had her for around 10yrs now and she never fails me in the least!!!! Have used almost every piece of shit locator out there and by far for day to day the Subsite is the best IMHO but of course we cant get them here even though we have asked many times. This Rycom is a big shit pile as far as im concerned. I dont trust it much at all. I had a good RD 5w at one time as heavy as it was that thing was within a nats ass of everything and you could run the gain all the way down to where it was off then bump it up one time and when you crossed your target line it just beeped at ya!!!! It was also within 1/2" on depth every damn time (not that I give that out ;) )
