Please tell me, I am not the only one who has swarms of gnats gathering about my truck when I am stopped at a locate!

Two other guys around here told me they have the same problem. Is there some reason for this? Are they like cicadas and are more prevalent in cycles?

And YES, I DO turn the truck off at every stop (hence no A/C leaking through the mirrors). Seriously, what gives? It's like a frickin' biblical plague over here!

Gnats are one of the many reasons I still smoke.....Gnats won't get anywhere a burning cigarette. In fact, I have worked in a couple areas where they were so bad I went to the store and bought a pack of the cheapest cigarettes I could find and just let them burn in the corner of my mouth. No need wasting my good ones.

I know what your talking about. Between the gnats and mosquitos it is difficult to breath without inhaling some sort of little insect.

I recently had a ticket near a river which curved around, so I pretty much had still water all around me, when I got out of my truck I was immediatley surrounded by swarms of misquitos, I'm talking hundreds of thousands, possibly millions. I douched myself in backwoods Off! and did my best to keep them off of me, but I ended up still getting about 10 to 15 mosquito bites. In a world of West Nile Viruses, this really bothered me.
I wonder if this is something that needs to be addressed, I mean honestly this situation could get one of us killed, not likely, but possible.

Mosquitos are really bad this time of year where I live. I purchased a Mosquito Magnet last year and it was the best money I've ever spent. If I walk across the street to my neighbors house I get eaten alive but if I'm in my back yard I can sit back with my beer and barely get bothered by the mosquitos.

Just make nice with one of them and he'll tell all his friends and they'll tell their friends and they'll leave you alone after that. I saved a cicada's life last year and he spread the word throughout the cicada community and they all left me alone the rest of cicada season. It works. Try it.

I've noticed that when I've had a supper the night before that contained garlic, biting bugs don't seem as vicious.

I dose up with the spf on sun exposed areas and fruit of the earth from wally world cocoa butter with aloe (its cheaper than most others great value sucks) every where else...Oh did I say everywhere else?!?!:yahoo:

I use it ritually because of 2 showers a day and getting old...

It coats the skin from the bug juice going directly on your skin...Who needs deet soaking in there pores so they can shorten the life expectancy even more???

MAN..! I was just talking about bugs flying around the mirrors of my truck when it's not moving anywhere, and y'all come up with THIS stuff!

K-Y... Skin So Soft...~? I'm not trying to get down with some freaky bugs! Yeesh!

And the cigarette trick would probably work, but I quit almost 5 years ago. I'd pass on making nice with the buggers, as well (they're not HOBBITS, b.b.mghee!)

I find drinking a bottle of Knob Creek bourbon a night keeps enough alchohol fumes spewing from your glands to pickle any gnat or mosquito that even gets close to you.

Unfortunately, it does have SEVERAL other advers effects...:bonk:

Good thing is you're so plowed that you don't give a rip!!!
