THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
OPEC sells oil for $136.00 a barrel.
The U.S. sells grain to OPEC countries at $7.00 a bushel.
Solution: Sell grain for $136.00 a bushel.
Can't buy it OPEC Countries? Tough! Eat your oil!
Ought to go well with a nice thick grilled filet of camel butt!!!
Just thought I would make your day!!!

You really should - especially since your assumptions are a little off. OPEC only receives about $40 per barrel of oil. I wonder where the other $90 goes? You might want to check out your retirement fund or 401K. We don't need to be looking past our own shores for the cause of this oil mess. Our own greed is doing this! Sorry for the rant but we need to fix our own shortcomings in this energy mess, not lay the blame off on someone else.:(

Yes yes yes we all NEED to go GREEN! What a load of crap!!!!! Electric cars, bio fuels blah blah blah. Do me a favor, super impose the image of Alaska over every oil producing country in the middle east, see the difference? Where is OUR oil going? Why is it not in OUR pumps? Why are we not doing all we can to sever all ties and dependency with every asshole country in the world that hates us but loves our cash for oil program?
Is global warming and environmental harm holding us back? Heres a clue, the US and Canada along with a handfull of EU countries no bigger than NJ care about polution and environmental concerns, the rest of the planet DOESN"T and DOESN"T have any restrictions at all concerning the environment. We need to dump this hippy attitude about saving every little thing and hugging all the trees. No offense but f*ck them, survival of the fittest time folks, natural selection should take its course. We should go back to isolationism and take care of our OWN problems right now, get OUR problems fixed then MAYBE start helping out countries who deserve our help not every country no matter what.
Sorry about the rant but this country and how we do things really pisses me off. Rebut me if you wish but keep this in mind. I was in the military for 13 years, I've been all over the world "helping" other countries. 1991-2004 so figure out how many places Americas Forgein Policy has taken me.

I am not rebuking you on this at all. My thought is all that oil that we have not drilled for is OUR rainy day gaurantee that we will still have it when others run out.
