Thank you for being positive. Now how do we get things to change or has locating all about the stockholders and CEO.s Are we there becoming the Walmart of Locating and we are the worker who have to be on welfare to make ends meet. I thought when I first started working in this job 8 year ago I was told we should our heads high. We do a very important job by protecting the public from danger. Or was I feed a line? Can we regain our worth some how or our we all doomed to low wages. Maybe no healtth insurance. I hope we can stand up before it to late. But how do we do this. Maybe you all are saying there is No way we can win? or fight back? or make things better? Thats really to bad Hey I am not a Bad Gal. I just care maybe to much

In any company, but most especially Public companies (ones who have shares in the marketplace) there are two opposite truths. There is that annoyance the company calls a "customer" and there is the real reason companies are in business. We will call the real reason the "profit customer". This profit customer is the holy grail of any company and it unfortunately will take precedence over most other things. The "MANTRA" will not likely change, so it then is up to the individual to determine how they will "feel" about the companies offerings (pay, benefits, working conditions).

As employees, we do not control the former, but we all can control the latter!

Well said underground quester & yahoo! You can always find something to complain about... but what happened to the counting your blessings? In this day and age, it seems to be the exception rather than the rule. As I tell my kids... life isn't fair, so make the best of it and do your best in every situation you find yourself in. Give your employer 110% (more for your own dignity than anything else) and always tell the truth and be true to yourself.

The work ethic seems to have gone by the wayside it seems to me with most people these days. My husband has found that in his line of work also. Everyone wants the big money, but doesn't want to prove their worth to get it.

Just look at the starting wages to be an apprentice for an electrician, plumber, or steam fitter. It takes 3-5 years to make any real money and these folks don't get a company truck.

Everyone wants the big money, but doesn't want to prove their worth to get it.I just do the best I can. Some days are bright and sunny, but others just plain ol' suck. But I still do the best I can. As long as I do that, the hell with what someone else believes my expectations should be. Who the heck holds them up to those standards. The biggest problem is too many chiefs and not enough indians.
