He did these videos near Canton NC. If you look closely at the numbers on the port-a-john, it shows Canton NC.

Either this guy is unlucky enough to really love his job and be obsessed with it, or he filmed it on his last day as a locator and he had a mental meltdown from being a locator and went out with a bang.

Personally, I liked his version of R2D2 and the lunchbreak...."oh...um....I gotta go..." and the puzzled and confused look on his face.

Seriously, if the guy loved his job, he will probably be fired when the top brass from Utilitquest sees his videos and fires him for abuse of company equipment by using the company provided video camera, truck, safety vest and cones.....

I'm finally glad to see some type of locating video on youtube....

Well, that is unfortunate for him if he was an actual employee. His only mistake was using the actual company name. Companies tend to be a weee bit sensitive about that and most prove to have little in the way of a sense of humor. Utili-guess might have been better.

I think back to the lunch break video though and still LMAO!!

Wearing his vest with the Utiliquest logo was a dead giveaway.

It would be very unfortunate to lose your job over. They must be pretty well staffed to fire someone over those videos. I could see a warning and being asked to take the videos down but termination is a bit steep.

See, I called it......Perhaps there needs to be more locators doing videos like these.....then we'd all get fired and the locating companies will be forced to hire green locators.....

I am saddened over these rumors of FiberBoy getting whacked, and my thread possibly being the catalyst. If true, let this be a lesson for all of us. Be careful of our posts, rants and attacks. It's my opinion that we are monitored by rat bastard snitches on everything we say and do. So let us try, as best as we can, to be on our best behavior. :angelic:

Regardless, FiberBoy - LUV ya Man! Come to Kansas City. We always have a place for an experienced locator!

It never crossed my mind that a person might get fired over that. I think it would be a good moral booster and the guy should have gotten a pat on the back. I'm assuming of course this was done during time-off... like lunch time. Oh well. another one bites the dust.

I hope he joins us and gives us all the details.

Good job on the vids. Loved 'em.

The guy that posted those videos (my husband) was not fired. He has quit Utiliquest, with notice and under great terms. Utiliquest has been nothing but fair, even giving him his final week off with pay. (they needed his truck). He is working for the City in water/waste-water. This is what he was trained to do and was lucky enough to finally get his foot in the door. The constant go-go of the locating business was crazy. He made those films for fun, its just a hobby.

oh ok, well good. No one wants anyone to get into trouble, because we all enjoyed the videos. The reason i posted this is because an immature utiliquest employee that saw these sent them to Victor, the top boss/cordinator for the charlotte/gastonia office and he was already informed on this matter prior, and Utiliquest was taking actions because it makes the company look bad (which is true, but it would take a complete moron to think it was anything but a funny joke) and then the videos were removed from youtube, if no one knew about it (higher ups) why were they taken down? I really hope he decides to put them back up now, since he left UQ to take a different position with the city. I think i speak on everyone's behalf here when i say that. I personally laughed my butt off at "lunch break"...haha even laughing now.

Out of curiosity, how long did your husband work for UQ? I too worked there and left for another company because I couldnt deal with lies they were feeding me and the empty promises they were making. They also offered to pay me my 2 weeks notice without work, UQ does this because they assume someone who is walking out the door wont have anything to lose if they have a fiber cut, but on their end they could lose thousands of dollars in at fault damages, they offer the 'walking package' as i call, to just about everyone. I stayed and worked and proved to them what kind of employee I am and what they would be losing. anyways, good luck to your husband on his new job, hopefully we will see more posts from you guys on here! :)
