I always look for fishing stuff and tools as I drive by. I've gotten some really good deals over the years.

When I was doing my ride alongs with the individual who trained me in this business, she would stop at every garage sale she'd see. Sometimes, the van was half full of garage sale stuff....it was pretty funny some days.
Saw a bumper sticker that said "I brake for garage sales"and wanted to put it on her van but didn't think the boss would see the humor in it.18

Not a recent find but last year I was across from a golf course and found a woman selling her husbands golf balls. As I looked through them I seen some Titleist ProV1's. I proceeded to sort through every ball she had and ended up buying all 4 dozen ProV1's for $8.
For any of you who golf you know that I found the deal of a lifetime. These balls sell for $50/dozen. I even felt guilty and told here that they were worth significantly more than $2/dozen but she didnt care. Her husband must have really been in the doghouse!

Last week I had a fellow locator tell me he had a hell of a time in a subdivision because of it was full of O.P.S.S. I didn't know what he meant so I asked and he said it was full of Other Peoples Shit Sales. I laughed my ass off. I never heard of a yard sale called that.

A farmer near our cottage had a garage sale the other weekend and by Sunday was getting kinda restless I guess.
Picked up a great two ton hydraulic jack and an antique knife they used for skinning the bark off logs for log cabins. Will use the jack for auto repairs and hang the old knife in my work shop.

I always go to those and ask the homeowner how much he's asking for his yard:)

And so...do you buy it "by the yard".... or do you buy the whole thing at once?

Caller: Well, how much do you have?
Radio Announcer: As much as you want.
Caller: Well, where is it?
Radio Announcer: Well, where do you want it?
Caller: What? where is it?
Radio Announcer: Whereever you want it.
